Choosing to serve a mission for the Lord is a BIG DEAL! Trevon has always sought to live righteously and wanted to share his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. He met with his bishop who helped him complete the necessary paperwork and request a call to serve. He was attending his second semester of college at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah when he received his call. He was so excited to receive it AND kind enough to wait to open it until we could drive up to where he was. We drove to Provo and attended the baptism of Nathan Beutler on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Following the baptism, we met together to witness Trevon opening up his call to serve. Those present included Papa and Grandma Beutler, Margene Johnson (Julie's mom), Eric and Julie Beutler and their kids (Jeremy, Abby, Josh, Nathan, Lizzie, and Hannah), Takeshi Tsuji (our exchange student from Japan), Brick (Trevon's roommate), Grant and Tanner Johnson (Juile's brother and nephew), and of course, our family: Mike, Shelly, Cari, TREVON, Sadie, Kristi, Cameron, Elise and Corban Beutler.

Trevon received a big packet that included information specific to the OHIO COLUMBUS MISSION, (preparation and immunizations he would need, as well as what to bring (and NOT to bring) with him). Below is a copy of his call, signed by President Thomas S. Monson.
Grandma and Grandpa Ferrin listened in on the phone as he opened his call. Then there were a lot of phone calls and texts made to spread the news! Trevon was emotional and said that his friends were right, "It doesn't matter where you are called to serve"...you feel happy, honored, and blessed to go wherever you are called. It was a special day for all of us!
