Greetings from the Great OCM!!!

Wow, I have to admit one of the highlights of my week was seeing the short video of Cari on drugs. Hilarious. Thank you for that. It looks like Sadie got the good end of the deal in terms of the recovery. Thunder Ridge! What merit badges did he get?
What is with the pictures of the Ford explorer?

Great week this week, lots of good things happened . . .

Since Elder DuBose is about to die he is motivated to do his very best and end it with a bang, we have been inviting everyone to come to church on his last Sunday (Aug. 3rd) and we have about a dozen people lined up and a goal of 14! We can do it with a little bit of sweat and faith.

Yesterday (Sunday) was crazy. We made breakfast for one of our investigator families in the morning and one of their kids (teenager) was being a stinker about coming to church. His dad tried to make him come but the kid threw a fit swearing and just being super immature. The dad went and picked him up and threw him on his bed in his room. He did not come to church.
But . . . . .
between the 2nd and 3rd hour we found out that the son called the cops on his dad! So we had to leave church and go with them back home to be a witness to the whole thing. What a pain. Luckily no one got in trouble, except for the kid who called the cops (he deserved it ). At the same time between the second and third hours of church a random car smashed into the mailbox outside and wrecked. The car was absolutely totaled and their was police and an ambulance. It was kind of interesting how all that went down all at once.

Also, at group council (ward council for the Amish group), Brother Weaver made a comment that one of our investigators would look completely different should he cut his hair, because he has long Jesus hair, I then turned to the Amish man with his long beard and said, you too Brother Weaver. Everyone got a kick out of that. I would like to see him cleanly shaven though.

We finally got our car back and it is a huge relief. It was a little stressful to find rides everywhere before we got the car back. The good thing is since it has been in the shop for a week, we are very comfortable in terms of mileage.

Oh also, there was a baptism on Saturday (child of record) and the members invited a non-member Amish family. They came and loved it! Afterwards we were talking to the Dad and he told us we could come by sometime! So hopefully another Amish family on their way to the water.

Have a wonderful vacation in Cali! Send me lots of pics and letters (;

love, Elder Beutler
