Transfer calls just came. . . drum roll please . . . .
I
am going to be staying in Xenia! Another transfer in this blessed land.
I really have spent a lot of my mission in this place but it is a good
thing. I love these people here and I was just thinking yesterday that I
sure do not want to leave these people we are teaching. Some of them
are getting so close. Tonight we have an appointment with an
investigating couple and we will hopefully put them on date. I really
believe they will be on date after tonight! Elder Campbell is also
staying and Elder Rasmussen will be moving back to the Xenia 1 apartment
and will be receiving a new companion.
It is
amazing how strong the spirit has been with our companionship this week.
We have worked very hard and been obedient and we have seen little
miracles. The Lord seems to place people in our path, and sometimes they
end up running into us. We had someone call us this week saying that
they have a daughter in our area who they want us to teach! We also
found some solid new people.
Yesterday morning
we had an appointment with an amazing family who is totally going to
get baptized! They are just totally Mormon! When we walk into their home
they have "families are forever" things all over their wall. We
re-taught them about the restoration and the air was thick with the
spirit. It was impossible to not believe what we were teaching, and when
the lesson was over they said "I am really excited to read the Book of
Mormon" and "it makes sense that God would call prophets again." They
are going to go under soon! I love their family!
Our
companionship right now is one of the most "fun" I have ever had. We
just enjoy each others company and the work has become very much
enjoyable. If you hear someone say missionary work is not fun it is
because they are not doing it right. Our cause that we are fighting for
is so grand, and the spirit so strong, so it is enjoyable. Elder
Campbell told me that when a companionship gets along it is because of
one of two reasons. Either they are both being obedient, or they are
both being disobedient. When you have one or the other there is
contention. And he is so right. Elder Campbell has really impressed me
with his deep understanding of principles of the gospel. This last
Saturday we went on splits while he went to the temple to witness 2 of
his converts get endowed then sealed to each other. I have to admit that
I was super jealous. He said that it was like nothing he had ever felt,
and that the temple makes so much more sense to him now after attending
their sealing. That is all I want is to get my investigators and
converts to the temple. I want that feeling so bad, and I want them to
have that feeling, but it is so hard to get them there! I can't settle
for anything less than the temple.
I love you!
And I want the temple to be the goal for everyone in our family. That
is the place where heaven and earth meet, and that is where I want to be
with all of my investigators, converts, and ultimately family someday.
Love,
Elder Beutler
