A great week in the
Ohio. We had zone conference this week and it was amazing. President
Daines is one of the most amazing men I have ever met. The training that
really hit home to me was about setting goals. He taught us about being
accountable to the Lord and that day (Wednesday) he had us plan for the
next day and set goals. We would meet again on Friday to give an
accounting for our goals. I had to conduct the conference on Wednesday
and organize the music, prayers, etc.
We ended
up seeing miracles in our area while we tried to reach our goals and we
did reach them all and go beyond. It was amazing what was possible as
we kept those goals in mind. We found a few new people miraculously, and
one of which had met with missionaries in Kansas and had recently moved
to Xenia. Perfect.
Thursday night we had one
of our investigators take us out to eat, an older woman who was on date a
couple weeks ago but has since fallen off. We invited her to be
baptized over the meal and she gladly accepted saying she really wants
to but has been out of town and so not able to come to church very often.
So tonight we have a lesson with her and hope to extend a date in early
March. I really want to see her to the temple!
Speaking
of the temple. I see that you were able to do some baptisms! Fantastic!
It is amazing how many you are able to do in one trip. Which means I
have lots of work to do. Many of the immediate family on our family tree
is done and so now I am going into more distant relatives, that is
until we find John Feeney. I really want to work on that line. That is
one of my favorite things to do here on my mission is to show recent
converts how to use family search so we can move them to the temple. We
are working with a recent convert now and have found quite a few names
for her to take. Hopefully we will be able to attend with her in the end
of this month.
I almost forgot to mention
that Friday morning we woke up with food poisoning :( Elder Campbell
puked a couple of times in the morning before we left for the second
session of zone conference (he felt OK the rest of the day), and I
endured until after we got in at 9pm that night, when I then puked. It
was definitely not the funnest day but we got a lot of work done still. I
am so glad I am getting over it now. It was the first time I had a
flu-like illness on my mission.
Congratulations on the new calling Mom! I know you will do fantastic!
