Greetings from The Great OCM!
So I have been taking lots of pictures, I am just forgetting to
download them all until the last minute, so one of these days I will
send them all home.
This has been a great week here in Mansfield. The Spirit has been
poured out on our companionship and the Lord has prepared people to
receive the gospel. At the beginning of the week we were contacted by a
former investigator who informed us that he had a desire to take the
lessons again. We were able to sit down with him on Thursday and teach
him the restoration. He is super solid! He believes it all, knows Joseph
Smith is a prophet, loves the Book of Mormon, wants to go to the
temple, it literally does not get any better than this. He accepted our
baptism invitation also. He is just a solid young guy; came to our
lesson wearing a shirt and tie. I look forward to helping this man get
to the temple, by first being baptized. It is not very often someone
like this reaches out to us first, asking to take the lessons.
The blessings continued to come after this. While contacting people
on a street, we came across a less active woman, actually a recent
convert, who has been wanting to come back to church. She told us she
had 2 friends also who wanted to learn more and invited us into her home
to teach them. We arrived the next day and her and her 2 friends were
ready to be taught. They had questions about the Book of Mormon, and one
woman who was there, being familiar with the church because her husband
was a member, asked for a priesthood blessing. Statistically speaking,
because these people were found by a member and we taught them in the
member's home, there is a 60 percent chance they will join the church.
We found others throughout the week through personal contacting,
all of which seem to have a sincere desire to learn. Our entire teaching
pool, has changed drastically this week.
We also had interviews with President on Wednesday and I finally
got my temple recommend renewed. I look forward to put it to good use in
the near future. I found many, many, more ancestors this week all from
the Ohio. In fact, many are from previous areas I have served in. The
Lord is working a miracle here.
Today we have planned a district activity of baseball. It is cold
and rainy, but nothing is going to stop us from playing some ball. I
will send some pictures home!
This week I enter my final month in the mission field, one more
month to give my all to this great and glorious work. One more month to
get these people I love to the water. I hope and pray I may remain
consecrated to this great work and continue to give all my heart, might,
mind, and strength in this great cause.
Love,
Elder Beutler
I would love to bring my bike home if I can, but I will put it to good
use until then. It definitely has seen some wear and tear over the last 2
years.
