Greetings from the Great OCM!

Sounds like a . . .fun . . . independence day. I feel sorry for Corban. The fourth was just another day here. There was not a firework display here in Danville. The best part of the week was group softball on Wednesday night. The Amish group has begun playing softball, and a BBQ every other Wednesday evening. We had about 7 investigators show up and we had a blast playing the all American sport. Literally one of the best moments of my mission. Those Amish people can really play ball! Hot dogs, baseball, and we pulled up in a Chevy Cruze. All I needed was some apple pie to make it an all American day.

So new mission president . . . we had a specialized training last week where we got to meet him, shake his hand, and he told us his vision for the mission. The man is awesome. It is hard to see President Nilsen go and I don't know if anyone can top what him and Sister Nilsen did, but President Daines is awesome because he will tell you how it is, (or as Elder DuBose says he "leaves all the sugar in the kitchen"). He does not negotiate with any disobedience and is absolutely by the book, which I like that because I try to be. Not only that but he will lay the hammer down if people are not obedient.
Man it would be tough to be a mission president.

I am really excited for the changes President Daines will make. This Tuesday is Mission Leadership Council and it will probably be full of changes, especially since the church is changing a few things in Preach my Gospel to help with recent convert retention.

While I was digging through my old planners this last week I came across my favorite Pres. Hinckley quote:

"Though my work may be menial, though my contribution may be small, I can perform it with dignity and offer it with unselfishness. my talents may not be great, but I can use them to bless the lives of others. . . the goodness of the world in which we live is the accumulated goodness of many small and seemingly inconsequential acts."

(President Gordon B. Hinckley)

We can all contribute to this great work!

Have a fantastic summer week! I love you all

Oh, by the way, we both got poison ivy on ourselves. I had it on my legs after weed eating an investigator's yard, and Elder DuBose had it on his arms. However although I broke out in a rash it did not bother me that much (it didn't really itch, just looked bad) But it drove Elder DuBose crazy. A member told us that some people are more susceptible. Elder DuBose had to pick up some sort of medication to get rid of it because it just kept spreading.
I included a picture of poison ivy on drop box. I sure know what it looks like now. It grows like any other common weed here in Ohio.

Love ya!
