Greetings from the Great OCM!,
No,
it is not transfer week, but since Labor Day happened President asked
that we e-mail on another day since the libraries were closed, so sorry
for the late e-mail.
Sounds like things are moving forward in the family.
Super excited for everyone and all the changes that are happening. The
Lord is really shaping us.
Last week was
fantastic. Elder Donaldson and I are a unified companionship and he
teaches like a champion. Our area has had a lack of progressing
investigators ever since Don was baptized, and so our focus this last
week was to find some new people to have progress, not just people who
were semi interested, so we set a goal and worked at it. Since it was
the end of the month we ran out of miles and turned to our bikes, which
became a great blessing in the end. Overall we did find our goal; we
have 3 new people coming to church on Sunday, and 2 other potential
people. The Lord literally poured out his spirit upon us this last week.
On Monday night (2 days ago) we went out teaching with one of my recent
converts Sean (who often struggles with his testimony). We taught 2
awesome lessons to these new people and the spirit was nearly tangible.
Sean felt it and he bore his testimony both times with power and it was
convincing for the investigators. For the first time ever I heard him
refer to the church as "our church," meaning he sees himself as a part
of the church. Sean has a testimony in his heart, even though his mind
sometimes plays tricks on him. I think that he found that testimony a
little more apparent after coming teaching with us.
Mission Leadership council yesterday and there are more
changes coming our way. The mission will now be sharing cars, so that
every area in the mission has use of one. Zone leaders and a few other
areas will not be sharing cars due to leadership positions and duties,
and geographic restrictions. This also means that every area will be a
bike area to some degree during the weeks that they do not have use of a
car. Areas will be switching weekly (one week with a car, and one week
without). The mission also is having a huge push on Vision. We should
have vision for our investigators, we should have a desire for them to
attend the temple and be baptized as a stepping stone to get there.
While many missionaries on the other had have a very temporal vision of
getting new investigators and making the numbers look good, when overall
if we have this increased vision the indicators follow because we are
working to accomplish our purpose.
Sorry again for the late e-mail; letters will be coming
later this week as well. I have not had a moment of spare time since it
was a zone activity on p-day, mission leadership council all day Tuesday,
and zone meeting today. I love you and pray for you always.
Love,
Elder Beutler
