Temple
week made it a great week. I love the temple so much! I gained some
valuable insight this time around. We had the opportunity to see one of
the new new videos and it was fabulous and really helped me to
understand a few things. What a blessing it is to live at this time when
we have the fullness of the gospel.
We just
got done playing tennis today with bro. Toronto (see pictures in drop
box). I almost forgot how much fun it is. It was a great activity to do
this p-day.
One morning this week, while we
were on exchanges and I was staying in Xenia, I felt like we should go
to a particular area in Xenia to find. While driving through that area I
felt a particular inclination to stop at a certain neighborhood. We
knocked on a couple doors and noticed someone pulling up in a nearby
driveway, so we approached them. They immediately made an excuse that
they were sick (typical) so we offered to simply give them a card, which
we did, and then began walking away. The woman (it was a family with a
mother and 2 small kids) read the card with the church's name and called
to us as we were walking away saying "wait, what church are you from, I
think that my dad used to go to that church." We told her and I asked
"what is your Dad's name?" She replied, and I recognized the name as one
of the less active members I had visited one year ago, reflecting on
that visit I was able to respond, "I know him." We then talked a little
about her family and she told us we could come back. If I had not served
in this area one year ago, that connection would not have been built. I
look forward to seeing her and her family again this week.
News
on my back: I have been working closely with the mission nurse and she
referred me to a doctor here in our ward boundaries that is actually a
less active member of the ward. So I called and left a message, but am
looking to see him in the next couple weeks. We will go from there.
We
went on exchanges with the Assistants this week. It did not work out
like a wanted it to. I stayed in Xenia with one of the assistants and everything seemed to fall through, literally everything. But it was
great to learn from them, they are really stellar missionaries that
really know what they are doing. It was a discouraging exchange though,
especially around one of the assistants.
Love y'all and have a wonderful week. Good luck with the wedding plans, and let all the family know that I love them.
Love,
