Transfers: big change, a
very big change indeed. My new companion is Elder Patch, as it looks
like you already know. At 6'8" he stands 14 inches taller than me. From
Provo Utah and a dedicated Slab customer. Not to mention he plays
volleyball for BYU and was in the Olympics. So yeah, he is a champion,
inside and out. Very enthusiastic about the work and not afraid of
anything. He is just what this area needs right now and just what I
need.
We have already seen a huge difference
in the area, we found lots of people last week, started teaching a part
member family, taught lessons in members homes, and just had a great
time. The Lord is truly blessing us here in the blessed land of Xenia.
Lots of new prospects. I am really looking forward to this transfer.
It
looks like the wedding was awesome. I just got the tie today in the
mail (they usually keep the mail until transfers are over so the new
addresses can be imputed into the system), but i am wearing it today. I
am so happy for Cari and Nathan! The gospel is so true, just look at
what it can do for families!
This Sunday I was
able to stand and bear my testimony about a particular promise the Lord
has extended to us. In the mission call letter there is a promise which
says "greater happiness and more blessings than you have yet
experienced await you as you serve in this labor of love among God's
children" That promise is true, and it is being fulfilled in my life.
Missionary work has brought more happiness than I have yet experienced
and that promise is true to all members of the church, not just the full
time missionaries. I just wish more members could see that.
Love,
