Greetings From the Great OCM!
It definitely feels like Christmas
time. We had a member give us a small live tree and lots of decorations
so our apartment is decked out (Elder Patch loves to decorate). Are you
guys doing Christmas lights this year? Have you had a chance to watch
the new Mormon Message "He is the Gift" on christmas.mormon.org? Oh, by the way, the Church has re-vamped the websites and they are awesome! Do you want to check your Mormon IQ? Take the quiz! http://beta.mormon.org/mormon101/overview.php. I highly recommend that you frequently visit these websites so you can recommend them to others.
This
week has been awesome in terms of teaching people. We have 2 awesome
families who are progressing in the gospel, and one of them came to
church this last week. Lots of good things happening right now. It is
amazing what the Lord is doing. This last Sunday nearly every testimony
in church (fast and testimony meeting) was about either family history,
or missionary work. He is Hastening His work! And I have the great
privilege to be at the battle front. I am super excited for these new
families we are teaching, they show great potential to make it to the
waters of baptism, as a family, and then to the temple, as a family.
That is what I am aiming for in the last 6 months of my mission is
finding, teaching, and baptizing people so they will go to the temple as
a family.
Preparation day next week will be
on Tuesday due to the fact that we will have a General Authority coming
to the mission on Monday. He will be giving a specialized training.
Elder Perkins from the First Quorum of the 70. Did you know I have never
seen an apostle, or the prophet in my lifetime?
It
is cold and flu season again and I seem to have picked up something. My
throat is sore and my body ached this morning. I picked up some vitamin
C last week and I hope that will help me beat this thing. Still woke up
on time though; I need to get through my mission with 100 percent
waking up on time (:
Transfers are also this
week. I will find out what is happening on Wednesday. Anything could
happen. I have been a zone leader for a long time and I am curious when I
will drop down. I think the most likely thing though is that we both
stay in Xenia, and believe me that would be a blessing with the
wonderful people we are teaching, my great companion, and the
missionary-minded ward.
I love you my wonderful Eternal Family!
