Greetings from the Great OCM!

Our mission president has asked us to do something new and work on Family History on familysearch.org for about 3hrs per week. He is having us do this so that we can become well acquainted with family search and become able to use it as a tool in missionary work-- for the living. I am super pumped. I thought the spirit of Elijah was strong before my mission but now my companion has to drag me away from the computer when we go to do family history. Our assignment is to complete the "my family" booklet, however I could not help myself and have searched for some of my ancestors using the now free ancestry.com. I found a relative who served in the Revolutionary War (John Mann)! and another that served in the War of 1812! That made my day. There is a lot of silly information on my family tree which I do not have, for example the names (first and last) of my aunts and uncles, their birth dates. The birth dates of my grandparents, my parents' marriage date, grandparents' marriage date (essentially everyone who is living I need to manually find their information). If you can please send me this info. so can put it in my family tree.

Also as a side note, thank you so much for the addresses. I have somehow misplaced Bro. Clayton's and would also love the Yardley's and anyone else in the ward that you think would enjoy a Christmas card from me. I plan to print off a bunch of universal picture-Christmas cards at wal-mart and send them out next week.

It was a great week. We have some awesome people we are now teaching. We have a family of 5 that should be coming to church this week, along with another couple. Both are super investigators! They keep their commitments and have a sincere desire to know if it is true. Things are looking bright for the future here in the blessed land of Xenia.

So, I need to put in a plug for the HE IS THE GIFT initiative. You may already know but the church is putting massive amounts of resources and energy into pushing the members to do missionary work this Christmas season. The way they are doing this is through the He is the Gift initiative. In the December Ensign you should have received an insert that has 9 pass along cards that lead to christmas.mormon.org. On this website is the 3 minute video He is the Gift, which if you have not seen I highly recommend you watch it now! The purpose of this is to share the video with everyone! Make it go viral! Please watch it and hash tag/share the video frequently on social media, and pass out the 9 pass along cards before Christmas. That is the challenge! This will only work if the members jump on board. We have been teaching members about the initiative for the last few days and it has already made an impact. Christ is THE GIFT, and we should share THE GIFT.

Just a heads up Transfer week is coming in Hot. Next preparation day will be on Wednesday (the day before transfers). I hope I stay in the blessed land of Xenia, especially with all the new people that are about to get wet!

I love my family, sometimes it seems too good to be true to be blessed with you guys. I just don't think it could get any better. Baptism is a very small step in the Gospel of Jesus Christ; Eternal Families is where I want to see my investigators. The dream of this missionary is to someday stand in the temple with someone I have taught, and led to the waters of baptism. That is my goal for my last 6 months of my mission. Get people to the temple, bind them to a heavenly family, and bring them home!

Love,
Elder Trevon Beutler
