This has been another
blessed week in the great Ohio! The winter seems to never want to leave. We received about 4 more inches of snow this week (on top of the 4 left
from last week), so I do look forward to the warmer weather soon; maybe
it will help to soften some hearts!
Disappointingly,
church was cancelled again this last Sunday due to the new snow. There
is nothing much that holds back the work more than when your
investigators can not make it to church. Baptism dates will have to be
moved back now, and there were come confirmations in the zone that will
be pushed back as well. Because of the snow the mission president asked
all missionaries to park the cars for the day. So that really only left
us with the option to walk to the neighborhood near our apartment and
shovel snow there. So that is what we did literally all day, on fast
Sunday! It was very tiring and I was very grateful when it came time to
eat that evening (We were soaked because it had started raining on us
while we were shoveling snow!). For probably the first time in my life, I
am ready for the snow to melt away and make way for spring. Thankfully
at the end of the day on Sunday we were allowed to drive again.
Transfers
will be this week on Thursday and I am really curious to see what will
happen, I might be dropping down from being a zone leader and end my
mission as a good ole regular missionary (that is what I want to happen
anyways). Only 2 more transfers for me to go and I do not look forward
to that departing testimony I will have to give.
Wait, hold on a second . . . .
President
literally just called. I will be training this next transfer! Super
Excited! I will be going to a meeting in Columbus tomorrow for all new
leaders and trainers and will then be receiving my new companion on
Thursday! It has been a long time since I have trained and I am looking
forward to it. It will also help me stay focused the last transfers of
my mission. This also means I will be leaving the blessed land of
Xenia.
I am so grateful for my mission. It has
truly helped me understand the mission of life, and what makes the most
happiness in life. I can not even begin to express my gratitude for
this great Ohio Land, where I can be a disciple of Christ. I look
forward to the next few months where I can fulfill my calling to its
fullest, and become the person that God intends for me to be. There is
still a lot of work for me to do here and goals yet to accomplish here
in the Great OCM.
Love,
