This has been a crazy
week! Lots of meetings and of course, conference. There seemed to never
be a break until this weekend. I had to go on 2 exchanges this week, we
had a zone training meeting on Wednesday, a new missionary training on
Friday with President in Columbus, and then the entire weekend just
about spent on conference. It seemed hard to find the time to dedicate
to proselyting and accomplishing the goals we wanted to, but we were
able to get a lot done with the time we had. One of the new families we
have found and began teaching made it to the first session of conference
on Saturday Morning. That was awesome to see them there, and they were
also able to meet the Bishop (he gave all the young kids candy bars!).
It
was especially great to be instructed by President Daines at the new
missionary training. I love President Daines! I am pleased to report
that Elder Jones is excelling in his training. We had a competition
where all the trainees and trainers competed with skills and things we
are supposed to have down, and Elder Jones and I were literally one
second away from taking the W! We make a good team here in Mansfield,
the work is enjoyable, which it always has been on my mission. We are
just now starting to find a groove in the ward and get all the names and
streets down.
This last weekend, along with
it being Easter and General Conference, was also the 2 year anniversary
of being an Endowed member of the Church (Saturday, April 4th). May we
all remember the words of our living prophet as he encouraged us to take
advantage of the blessings that lie within the Lord's house. I am very
grateful for the temple. It has changed my life and will continue to.
Since it has been 2 years, that means my recommend has expired! (last
day of March), so I look forward to renewing my temple recommend when we
have interviews with president in a couple weeks. I also look forward
to being able to join you in the temple in the near future!
Conference
was absolutely fantastic, in particular the priesthood session. I told
Elder Jones that it was the best priesthood session I have ever watched.
There were some very applicable talks to me. I also really enjoyed
hearing from President Uchtdorf concerning grace, Elder Hales about the
cornerstones of spiritual liberty (:, Elder Holland's testimony of the
atonement delivering us from the fall, and Elder Nielson's talk and
analogy about music and dancing relating to the gospel in our homes.
Overall it was a fantastic conference and all the questions I came
seeking answers to, were answered. There will be more insights to come
in my future letter(s).
This week is transfer
week, yes it was only a 5 week transfer, which means my last transfer
will be a 7 week one instead of the usual 6. I look forward to giving my
all to the Lord here in my final weeks in His service in the great Ohio
land. I can never give enough, after what He has done for me.
"Shall we not go on in so great a cause?"
Love,
Elder Beutler
