Greetings,
It is so great to hear that you guys are doing a little bit of family history work. That is one thing that I wish was a bigger part of missionary work is doing family history work. Keep it up!
It has been a great week. Had a baptism on Saturday. Calli Stewart and she was Elder Prettyman's last baptism. She is a friend of the Wilkinson's in the ward, who I believe sent you a picture of me via e-mail. Anyways it was an awesome baptism and she is an awesome Mormon now. She was so prepared for the missionaries. Everything we taught her was just review and she already believed everything thanks to the wonderful help of her member friends. Member missionary work is the most effective form of missionary work in the church.
Lots of miracles have been happening here in Xenia this week. Miracles are definitely a real thing. I will share two of them and they were both ways the Lord provided new investigators for us. These miracles happened while Elder Prettyman was away on splits with the Zone leaders, oh by-the-way Elder Prettyman is leaving on Friday. Going home to good old Price Utah. So it will be just me and Elder Jensen. Anyways Elder Jensen and I were going to contact a referral and before we even got to the door this man came out of his house and said "Mormon missionaries I love you guys, you need to come over and teach my family come over tomorrow!" So yeah, then his wife came out and started telling us her life story and was completely in tears by the end. We have an appointment to go back this evening so we will see how it goes. Second miracle, we were tracting around this big pond in the park and some guy flagged us down and told us he needs to become closer to God and he has been taught in the past. So we have started to teach him and his family. Cool thing is his wife is deaf, so we are working on finding someone who can come out with us who knows sign language. So those were some really cool experiences that happened and honestly there are a lot more which have occurred. It is never a new thing to see a miracle happen.
So I need help obtaining the poem "the race" I do not know who wrote it but it is about this race and this boy who keeps falling during the race but picks himself back up and keeps going. You will probably recognize it because I have talked about it before but since I do not have a printer, if you could send it over I would love to have it and to use it when I teach specific people.
We are going to have another baptism on Tuesday this week. Chelsea is the friend of a member family in the ward who is less active. However we have recently seen the reactivation of the family and now the baptism on Tuesday. Xenia is just exploding right now!
I love you all and hope you have a great week. Good week at school everyone!
Love Elder Beutler
