Greetings,

Well today has been an interesting day, my e-mail is coming a little later than usual, in fact I am typing as fast as I can because p-day ends for us in about a half hour. But this is because this morning Elder Jensen got the flu or something. Yes, he was puking and everything. Luckily, it was p-day so it was very convenient. After all, today there was a district "fun-day" where everyone in the district went to the church and played games but hey, I would rather stay home and get things done and apparently that was able to happen. So now the apartment is clean and we are ready for our week.  Elder Jensen even feels better now as p-day is ending.

Well lots of stuff happening this last week. We had Chelsea's baptism on Tuesday which was the best baptism ever mainly because she bore her testimony right after the baptism and it was so spiritual that many were in tears. It was elder Prettyman's last baptism so he was bawling. Since Chelsea has decided to get baptized her best friends who are a less active family have returned to reactivation in the church which has been awesome to witness.

Anyways like I said Elder Prettyman is gone, or in mission terms he is "dead" which means my experienced, seasoned, take the lead companion is gone. This week has been very educational as we, Elder Jensen and I, have had to do all of the teaching by ourselves and we have been learning very fast from our experiences. There is so much to learn! One of the hardest things now is finding a third male to come with us to an investigators house where there are no males. I don't know if you knew it but we always have to have 3 guys when teaching. So yes lots of responsibility now thrust upon us but we are handling it fairly well. In fact we still had a pretty successful week. We did a lot of time tracting this week and a lot of it was in the ghetto area of town which Elder Jensen was really nervous about. So Xenia is kind of split in half there is the east side of town and the west side. Whatever you do, do not go into the east side after dark. It is way sketchy. The west side is the nicer middle-class part of town.

Oh by the way we were biking one day and we saw this guy that we stopped to talk to and he seemed really distracted. Then this car pulled up and a bunch of people hopped out and I got this bad feeling and Elder Jensen was like "Elder Beutler lets go." According to Elder Jensen we witnessed a drug deal. So yeah the real world is not nearly as hunky-dory as Hurricane. I only love Utah more now that I know what a safe haven it is.

Yes dad, I love your self portrait, and your song reference.

So I got an e-mail from Uncle David today and it was really awesome to hear from him. It is great to see their family coming closer to Christ. One thing I have learned on my mission is the ability the Gospel has to change lives. Uncle David is just stellar! Man I love that guy!

Well, as dad would say, I'm gonna "Keep on Lovin' You." Hope you have a great week. Happy B-Day Elise. There should be something in the mail for you soon.

Love
Elder Beutler
